Description

A counselor at Camp Good News facilitates in and outdoor activities, field trips, games, crafts, and ensures a safe camp environment. Duties include leading sports (archery, tennis, low ropes, field sports), waterfront activities (swimming, boating), informal Bible studies, chapel participation, and camper supervision. 

Objectives: 1. Support each camper’s emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. 2. Maintain camp spirit and follow all policies.

Requirements

Camp counselors are employed for 9 weeks from mid-June to mid-August. Our counselor requirements include being 17-18+ years old, having a high school diploma/equivalent, a passion for kids, strong leadership/communication skills, with background checks and full summer availability for ensuring a safe, fun, and responsible environment for campers.

Qualifications:

     Strong Christian faith

     Experience with children or youth

     Willingness to work long residential hours

     Enthusiastic, alert, team-oriented, flexible, and ministry-focused

     Certifications in any of the following: lifeguarding, WSI, archery, low ropes, CPR and first aid.
